Joy & I ... hiking trip to Nyeri ... 22 July 2012

A Mum ...
and her Daughter ...

... getting up one morning and start hiking 200kms ...

Uhhhmmm ... yes ... that is exactly what we're gonna do, starting  tomorrow morning, Sunday, the 22nd of July. Wilco and I have done it twice and both occasions stand out in my mind. Now I'm gonna do it with my darling daughter.

WISH US LUCK ... or rather BLESSINGS!!

Our first stop will be Nyahururu ... Where will we sleep? We have no idea. We're going to literally follow our noses and  see what the Lord has in mind for us.

We have already finished packing ... we tried to keep it as light as possible as well DAAAA, we have to carry the stuff on our backs. We have our Bibles (this is going to be a spiritual journey more than anything else), our notebooks and pens, a torch, a candle and matches (just for in case we land somewhere "weird" where there's no light in the room), sunblock, flower seeds (of course you can't take a hiking trip without seeds ;-), gardening tools (small, light ones) ... I have this picture in my mind where we're giving people's gardens a face lift, scattering marygold seeds left, right and centre to simply make the world a better place!! All people need beauty in their lives ... and in Africa the majority are so busy "surviving" that even THINKING of making a flower garden, will and can never cross their minds.

We all need to CREATE beauty.
We all need to MAKE IT HAPPEN.

God had made all things and in the Book of Genesis He saw that it was good ... However, sincerely speaking ... look at the world around you!

Are all things good?? Are all things beautiful?

Noooo, people are dying of hunger; children are lacking food, education and LOVE; people are selfish, proud and greedy ... lovers of self and lovers of money.

Can we decide today that we are going to make one person happy? Can we think of something OUTSIDE the box to spread a little joy and happiness.

Well, I personally need some of it in my life ... I need God now more than ever as it seems we've come to some kind of a huge obstacle that wants to block the way ... Of course, what can we expect with Wilco who lost his job a couple of months ago?

SO ... instead of throwing a pity party, we're going to throw a GOD PARTY ... and SPREAD LOVE AND KINDNESS AND GOODNESS AND PRAYERS AND HAPPINESS AND JOY ...

That is exactly what Joy and I want to go and do.
Will definitely keep you posted :-)

GOD BLESS and be safe!!
